Walks 'N' Wags' Pet First Aid Course
It may be the most comprehensive of its kind. Important topics covered in the course include: immediate steps to take in an emergency, how to handle bleeding wounds and bone injuries, how to perform Artificial Respiration and CPR, what to do for poisoning and heat/cold injuries, and more.
We also cover how to recognize signs of numerous illnesses as well as parasites. Last, we include an emphasis on methods of preventing illness and injury.
To many of us, our pets are family members.
Walks 'N' Wags has been offering Pet First Aid Courses since 2003. The course was originally developed by Nurse Ethne Dickinson of Oakland Educational Services Ltd. and her team of Veterinary professionals in 1993.
In September 2007, Ethne passed over the administration of the program to Walks 'N' Wags and our goal is to train quality Pet First Aid Instructors and continue providing such an important service to Pet Owners.
If you are interested in participating in a Pet First Aid Course no previous First Aid experience is needed. Our courses are fun, informative, and you will leave feeling confident that you can be there in your pets' time of need. Contact us for information regarding course dates, locations, and costs.
If you would like to arrange a private class for a dog club or other group feel free to contact us for cost and details.
If a Pet First Aid course is not available in your area or country, do not despair we have a Distance Learning Program available. The cost is $225.00 Canadian plus applicable taxes. The course material includes a workbook, manual, exam, and a certificate upon successful completion. If you would like to register for this program, or if you have any questions, please email us at Walks 'N' Wags, and check here for First Aid course dates.
